Government revenue per capita
Methodological background:
The annual value of government revenue is divided by the average annual population.
Remarks:
Government revenue is expressed in current dollars and include the following types of revenue: Taxes on incomes, contributions to social insurance plans, taxes on production and imports, taxes on products, other current transfers from households, current transfers from non-profit institutions serving households, other current transfers from non-residents, investment income, sales of goods and services, and capital transfers.
The revenue figures include combined values of the following government levels: federal government, provincial and territorial governments, local (municipal) governments, Aboriginal governments and the accounts of the Canada and Quebec Pension Plans (CPP and QPP)
Annual average population is calculated as the average of the Q1 population estimates in the current and following year.
