Business openings per 10,000 inhabitants
Methodological background:
The annual number of opening businesses is divided by the annual average population and multiplied by 10,000.
Remarks:
Opening businesses includes all businesses that transition from having no employees in the previous month to having at least one employee in the current month. These instances occur when a new, small firm begins, when a large firm opens a new establishment or when a seasonal firm re-opens.
Annual average population is calculated as the average of the Q1 population estimates in the current and following year.
